I have read this book. I learned a lot about human nature and the author's undying desire to live. I ask you to consider going through a horrific experience such as a concentration camp in WWII. Would you remember every single date and detail? Or would things start to blend together and become confusing to you? A few reviews are questioning the authenticity and validity of this work. The complaints are made against discrepancies between dates and other events. If these minor problems define the historical accuracy of this non-fiction work, then I suggest you not read it. But, if you want an amazing tale of survival and renewed faith in man kind- then this is the book for you.

My name is Freddy and I bought one of the authors books at a book store, and when I started to read this book. I thought by myself that I had a hard life when my parents would yell at me, but this lady has opened up my eyes, what life was realy all about. It gave me courage to take what uis coming to me when my parents give me heck. Also I found out that no matter how hard your teen age years are, you can overcome the past, just like this author has done. She has turned her life around and is now helping other kids to face the future, I know she helped me a lot. Thanks Cato Freddy

After reading this compelling story of a young Dutch girl in the German concentration camps, it brings to heart the horror and degradation that took place during this infamous portion of our history. I find it unresting and disturbing to think that there are still those who try to hide the true stories of those like Cato who lived in hell. This book is a must for anyone who wants to know the true inside personal story of how man's inhumanity to man truly lived. Thanks to Cato for sharing this overwhelming story!
