Tono-Bungay is a 1909 novel by H. G. Wells. Narrated by George Ponderevo, who is persuaded to help sell Tono-Bungay, a medicine created by his uncle. Although he believes it to be a swindle, he spends seven years on the business before quitting and finding a new job in aeronautics, designing destroyers. This book has been called Wells' most artistic book.
