Big Trucks in Action

ISBN 0439639204 - Leave it to Tonka to take board books to a whole new, nearly indestructible level. The book has a mere 8 pages and absolutely no storyline whatsoever - and kids will love it. Each page shows a truck in action and tells what it does - demolishing, lifting, etc. Moveable parts, not just the usual flaps, make this a much more interactive book than you might expect. The flaps that do exist are much more delicate than most, since they are basically glued in place and are made of thin cardboard. Those may tear off in small hands easily, but the other moving parts are sturdy and the pages are twice as thick as normal board book pages to accommodate the inset parts. One of the Best

Our son will turn 3 next month and he's been enjoying this book since his first birthday. At first I thought there was not much to the book, but it really has been a hit for our son. Who would have thought that a simple story about a fireman saving a cat from a tree would have engrained itself in this boy's playtime activities virtually every day.

Great Toddler Book

This book is perfect for toddlers, whether they are into trucks or not. They love the movable parts and the books is very sturdy - holds up well.

Entertaining book

My 12 month old LOVES this book. There is something for him to do on every page, and he is fascinated by the moving pieces. I took this book with us to the grocery store and he spent almost an hour playing with it.

a must for a truck lover!

My son absolutly LOVES this book. He's had this book since he was about 1 or 1 1/2 years old. He constantly has me read it to him again and again! He takes it to bed with him, looks at it falling asleep, and again when he wakes up. It's a sturdy board book. The pictures are bright and eye catching, just like you see on the cover. The text has a rhyming flow to it. "Busy, Busy, wheels at work..." Each page discribes a different piece of heavy machinery in a rhyming text...with the text either saying what the machine is or a function that it does. There's a truck, a roller, gears, wheels, engines, trencher, a bulldozer, ect. A definate must-have book for a truck lover!
