DR Meredith's plots are getting better

My review of her last book in this series "Murder Past Due" wasn't too positive & I said I wasn't going to buy any more of this series. Then I found out I had already purchased the next two in the series. What to do, what to do? I read it. Although I still do not like the characters of Megan & Ryan and think the other reading group characters are stereotypes, I think the plots are getting better. While on a hike Megan's dogs uncover a skeleton & Megan finally gets to examine some bones. During the examination of what turns out to be a crime scene, she finds extra bones which leads her to conclude there is another skeleton close by. The story switches back and forth so the reader gets background about both skeletons. I thought the juxtaposition of the stories surrounding the two corpses interesting. It kept things from being too linear and staid. The members of the reading group are pretty much absent in this book. Perhaps that is why I liked this book so much better than the past ones. They were no more than a framework of supporting characters for the plot. Berkeley Crime still needs to hire a copy editor. Again, there are typos, grammar mistakes, and punctuation errors here. I find these in every Berkeley Crime book I read. NOT the fault of the author, but it gets annoying and breaks the flow of the story. In my opinion, this is the best book of the series.
