Tom vs. Hell

5 out of 5 stars, "A Neo-Western Like No Other"
A genre-defying masterpiece that's part Western, part dark comedy, and entirely unforgettable.

5 out of 5 stars, "When Hell Feels Like the Wild West"
"Tom vs. Hell" slams into you from page one. Tom and his high school crush? Wiped out by a runaway postal truck in the most absurd, violent fashion possible. You think that's wild? Wait until they get to Hell. But this isn't your typical underworld. No fire, no brimstone - it's a savage wasteland straight out of a lawless Western, and it's as gritty as it is unforgiving. Poor Tom. Death was just the prologue to his nightmare.

But in the middle of all this insanity, the father-son bond is what hits you hardest. It's raw, it's messy, and it's downright rebellious, giving the chaos an emotional weight that sneaks up on you. One moment, you're snickering at the absurdity of Hell's twisted rules; the next, you're hit with gut-punching moments of horror that remind you this is no joke. The humor is razor-sharp, but the stakes? Real as hell. One minute you're laughing at Tom's misadventures, and the next, you're feeling the crush of damnation right alongside him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even In the afterlife, some destinies refuse to die.

Fourteen-year-old Tom and his high school crush are killed in a traffic accident and, both having recently made questionable choices sin-wise, thrust into a Hell unlike anything they (or anyone else) ever expected: a monster-filled desert wasteland enclosing a vast and wholly corrupted capital city chock-full of freakish demons, hellish versions of mythical beasts, countless evil dead, and perhaps most loathsome of all...absurd and intractable bureaucracy.

The couple soon learns their deaths weren't accidental but instead orchestrated by Satan, himself, a retaliation against Tom's father who, since dying and coming to Hell about a year ago, has REALLY pissed him off, and Tom, after learning his father is not only here but has also somehow come to bear considerable power and influence among the dead, sets out to find him in this crumbling, infernal world.

Meanwhile, both father and son must constantly battle (or avoid) demons-literal and otherwise-to protect the women they love from this place designed to punish and, for anyone who dies a second death here, utterly enslave their soul.
Each step closer to his father draws Tom closer to the disappointing truth about his father's past and the reality of his holy transformation. Along the way, he and his father have also stumbled across and uncovered timeless secrets and miracles, one of which might identify Tom as a hero of ancient prophecy-revelations that, together, may enable them to change the fate of Hell and all its captives. But in a place where everything wants to break you, surviving might be the cruelest miracle of all.

Darkly funny, emotionally charged, and brimming with horror-fantasy grit, Tom vs. Hell is a high-stakes journey into the heart of damnation-and the strength it takes to fight your way back.
