Tom and Mr. Cobb is a story about all the vegetables in the refrigerator having a town meeting in the town hall. They didn't know why the refrigerator light kept going on and off much to their amazement. Each vegetable votes on a reason as Mr. Cobb, the chairperson, and Tom, the co-chairperson conduct the meeting. Meet the wonderful characters of this story: Caryn Carrot, Ollie the onion, Chuck Celery, Peter Pepper, Margaret Mushroom, and Ceil the Cucumber. This book is a good, wholesome book written and illustrated the way books used to be done.
Tom and Mr. Cobb were inspired during a trip to South Carolina visiting my family. Upon arrival to the train station in South Carolina, I needed to rent a car. My driver that picked me up was named Kermit. We started talking, and I mentioned that I had written some children's books. Kermit then shared with me that he had submitted a book to a publisher about vegetables having anarchy in the refrigerator. He and I began talking more, and through that talk I was inspired to write Tom and Mr.Cobb.
