Today's Apostasy: How Decisionism is Destroying Our Churches
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
Dr. Heimers' book had changed the way I see the Gospel. It exposes the performance based nature of the gospel preached by 99% of Evangelicalism. Today's gospel is not the Gospel of Grace that is proclaimed by the New Testament or by the preachers of the Great Awakening. It is a gospel of works and man centered instead of coming from God. No wonder our so called Christian civilization is in the outhouse! For Heaven's sake, read this book and get it to your pastor.
This book adresses some real issues of the crumbling Church

We as Americans embrace Christianity but why do we live in a nation filled with unspeakable crimes? The book answered many questions for me concerning the apparent spiritual morass of our country and it's people, myself included. The book had me search within myself to see where I stood in relation to my Creator after I recovered from a some what brusied ego. A must read for those searching for new directions.
Life changing for a pastor who will read it carefully.

Hymers pastors a Church where no other Churches exist, inner city Los Angeles, downtown. Where he ministers Christians have to be genuinely converted. Read his book and find out how he does it in the most difficult field in the USA.

As a pastor who knows Dr. Hymers well and who has preached in his church many times, I think so highly of this book that I have already mailed its companion volume, "Preaching To A Dying Nation," to over 8,000 preachers world wide. You can contact me at (626) 357-2711.
