Just as he swung over the top rail, he heard a collision behind him. He jerked around to see that Pudge had run head long into the bull with his chest and knocked it off its feet. Pudge stood over the bull, and the bull scrambled to its feet and headed for the far side of the corral. Toby climbed the fence and took Pudge's reins and said, "Thank you, buddy. You saved me again." From the time Toby Parker had decided he wanted to make his living as an adult, riding his horse and working cattle, he had dreamed of having a ranch. He worked hard and found a place where he seemed to fit in with good people that would allow him to settle down and focus on his dreams. Opportunities and misfortunes came his way as he dealt with criminals, jealous women and men, and accidents.
