Joe and Hannah Hogar are days into their honeymoon at the homestead, when Joe realizes he's not as selfless as he thinks. A transplant from the suburbs of Kansas City, Joe doubts that he'll ever be cut out for the cowboy way of life. When his doubt combines with the fear of becoming a father, Joe finds himself under a burden that seems too hard to carry.
Joe knows he must toughen up to be a good husband and father. But when a crooked deputy places a target on Joe, and a crazy drug dealer puts the whole neighborhood at risk, the weight is too much. Only when a seasoned rancher calls him out for his cowardice, does Joe stop making excuses and dig deep to become the man he's called to be.
...a man that finds himself facing his demons on a horse that's not even his own.
