To the undying love that never was

Love happens as unexpectedly as anything else in life, like heartbreak. We may plan for it, we may think we found it, we may not acknowledge it, we may deny it, but the truth is, we don't know for certain. We don't know anything at all. We go in blindly, play with something that seems innocent, or feels amazing, or appears to be harmless, or right, or is too exciting to let it go, even if it is wrong. Then we experience it's true colors. The highs so high that we can't feel our limbs, only our core, our heartbeats, our souls. And then there are lows, so low that we feel we might just die. Then when the rush passes, we realize how extraordinary the experience was, how worth it, how biblical, and we go back for more, or get ready for the next.
Isn't it so funny that we don't stay in that stage of complete bliss and euphoria for long periods? It's given to us in chunks, in cycles, so when we feel the withdrawal effects, the emptiness, the crave, we launch ourselves to the race again, even if we are not ready (but who can ever accurately assess when they are ready anyway... what are we without faith?).

This is a love story like any other: powerful, unique, thrilling, painful, perpetual, fleeting, confusing, exciting, epic, wonderful, inevitable. Is it over? Nobody knows. Life will tell.
