This is a story about love: love for oneself, including your mistakes, love for one another, and love for something unknown. Lilith watches as her friend's abusive relationship worsens. She watches as the father of another friend's baby runs away. She watches as others in her life confront their belief in God and a higher power. It seems as she does is watch; until she can't take it anymore. "And then, in the curve of shoulders and spine, he glanced back at me. His eyes were blue, like summer skies and oceans and the deep blue of going home and going out and moving East. The sun was rising as he stood, stepping up to the guardrail, facing toward me. And the sun came over the horizon, he was gone. Like the world turned but he didn't turn with it. He was gone into the East-rising sun."
