To See the Lord: An Advent Devotional

The prophecy of Isaiah, found in the Old Testament, is known as the "Fifth Gospel." This is because the prophecy points directly to the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. This devotional, to be read during the Christian liturgical season of Advent, walks through the prophetic pictures of the future Messiah. Each week takes a different aspect of the calling of the prophet Isaiah by the LORD (Isa. 6) and walks through that aspect as preparation for the culmination of Advent: Christmas Day. We invite you to walk with the prophet as he sees visions of light, hears sounds and stirrings, feels shook and shaken, tastes of atonement, and finally is sent to his people. These short, powerful devotions are meant to stir thoughts of the Christ and leave you longing for the day of the arrival of the One whom the prophets pined to see.
