Joseph Drake is the last surviving member of his once great family. He lives in the town of 19th century Salem and the superstitions of the witch trials still haunt the town. Due to these superstitious beliefs, Joseph is outcast and abused. He seeks refuge in his family's old plantation home on the outskirts of Salem, where he greedily devours the contents of alchemy books and his grandfather's journal that he inherited. Through the means of this precise, but somewhat incomplete text, Joseph finds himself with a beautiful companion. But complications arise as an evil sorcerer and his minion not only want the secret text for themselves, but are horrifically connected to the death of Joseph's grandfather and have sinister plans for the use of such a text.
