Short and bland

The twist is cliche and easy to see coming. In fact, everything about it is cliche. A bit juvenile. As if the author was writing to be edgy and dark rather than tell a story with a meaning.

Not for the Faint of Heart

A short book that doesn't waste a single paragraph, To Be Devoured immediately jumps into the disgusting and disturbing journey of a woman struggling with psychological issues who develops an obsession with vultures and finds herself fantasizing about becoming one of them by ingesting raw and decomposing animals. Not only are these dreams and actions described in vivid and violent detail, but as the main character's psychosis begins to take control, you find yourself questioning what is real and what isn't. Like a car accident you can't look away from, the downward spiral is gripping and intense up to the bitter end.
