The Apostle Paul left Titus, his son in the Lord at Crete to set in order unruly churches. These were mature churches, ones that were rife with problems. He gave Titus the task and the authority to carry it out. As we read Paul's instructions we see Titus is faced with a daunting task. But too often today a pastor is faced with a similar task and all too often he is not given the tools, mainly the authority to handle the task. Often he or she is restrained from actions that are needed by fear, church boards that don't want the boat rocked and denominational leaders that are not supportive or worse, prevent actions. Sometimes the pastor is part of the problem because they have settled down to run a church, not serve God and the people. All too often the good old boy mob moves in. Paul pretty well deals with this in his letter to Titus. Th9s book also shows how to lead an effective bible study.
