Journey to Zion

This book works on two levels. It an historical based fictional account of a Mormon handcart company's journey on foot across the great plains and the Rocky Mountains to Utah. The author's descriptive narrative allows to reader to walk on the trail with the Morgan family. The second level this book can touch the reader is spiritually based. The symbolism of walking to Zion(Utah), the promised land(heaven can be seen as an analogy to our own search for Zion. Gradually all our physical strenghts will be stripped from us, till all we have is "The Strenght of her Spirit."

This book was well written and interesting. It is easy reading and I finished in just a few hours. It is a good book, suitable for teens or adults.
