NOT REDEEMED BY CORRUPTIBLE THINGS......This Book Deserves *****10 STARS*****

It's so much more than "is tithing right"...rather it's "is what Jesus did for us at Calvary enough" Was it truly finished or not? Redeemed means spirit, soul, body, financially and socially. It was a completed work. I believed just as many of you do all my Christian life. I came to realize after working in ministries and with ministers what really goes on "behind the scenes". They are not bad people, just misinformed about New Covenant Realities and especially the Books of Hebrews and Galatians. They are blinded to this because they only see one way to get money into the church, establish their budgets, pay their salaries and build their vision. God has such a better plan. After crying out to God for truth to be revealed concerning this type of manipulation and control and what He really thinks and what He really wants every Christian to walk in, I began a spiritual journey which took over 5 years of study and prayer. I realized I could no longer be a part of harming and manipulating God's children. Then I "found" this book and it confirmed EVERYTHING the Lord had shown me in His Word. I realized the scriptures ministers were holding over their members' heads came from the law combined with II Cor 9 (you cannot mingle your seed - old and new - law and grace) that when they gave to the church, God would be sure their needs were met. Yet in meeting after meeting, they were coming up with "schemes" to bring more money in. They would never truly read those scriptures which said that God would make GRACE ABOUND to them so that they needed no aid or support. This is what God truly wants -- His people walking in so much reality of what Jesus did for them that they would abound in so much of this grace that not one Christian would need any aid or support -- all to His glory and to show the world that our God truly does meet our every need according to His riches in glory. Just truly, without any hold backs or emotions, ask yourself "Has God really, truly opened the windows of Heaven and poured out a blessing in which you cannot contain all of it?" "Do you truly have more than enough to meet every need, every day and enough to bless others?" All these things were promised even if you tithed the first time, yet you honestly do not see it happening...WHY? because we are living in New Covenant realities based on one thing only -- the precious sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ...His shed blood and His sacrifice ALONE is where the blessings in every area of life come from....Though He was rich, He became poor; that THROUGH HIS POVERTY, you are made rich! We are not redeemed by corruptible things, such as silver and gold, but by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.(1Pe 1:18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation RECEIVED BY TRADITION FROM YOUR FATHERS; (1Pe 1:19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Please search

A book that begged to be written

The Holy Spirit is alive and well. It took Him a long time to find someone to write this book for Him, but He found the right person in Matthew Narramore. Thank you, my brother, for hearing the call and obeying. If you think this book is "just" about tithing, think again. As Narramore so clearly shows, tithing in the church is only one visible tip of an enormous iceberg of "works" mentality that forces the church to remain in a servant/child relationship to Jesus Christ, rather than to GROW Up into mature sonship in Him and learn to truly walk by the Spirit. The last three chapters, "Righteousness," "Sons of God," and "Commencement," will thrill the heart of any born-from-above Believer and give him the Spirit-inspired courage to leave forever man's way and leap into GOD'S way. I end with a few quotes from this book, a book THAT HAD TO BE WRITTEN: (Speaking of the first-century church) - "Laws and principles of giving were unnecessary. Love had taken over. Tithing was irrelevant." "Jesus never called anyone to a ten-percent commitment." Last - "The gospel is the message of the finished work of Christ and our sharing with him of his resurrected life. If we would preach THAT message we would see more faith, more commitment, and more action from Christians. We would also see more money given to support the work of God than the tithing message has ever produced." Everything that is within me witmesses to the Truth in this book. I thank God for it and its author.

Direct, Comprehensive, & Refreshing

Matthew does not "beat-around-the-bush" with this indepth look into this taboo subject. If another book like this has been written I do not know about it. If not I am glad Matthew started. I hope to see future books written on this subject as well as on many many other saint-deceiving, Christ-obscuring, Bondage-giving doctrines like the ones on prayer, leadership, "going to church", faith, how Pastors & Elders are appointed, and myriad other erroneous doctrines that poor leaders are teaching because they themselves do not know what Jesus' sufferings, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and enthroneship meant for us. Now to this book: One thing stands out foremost to me in Matthew's book. The fact that Christians mix Old Covenant and New Covenant scriptures together. This forms doctrines that are so anti-Christ that it causes God's people spiritual, soulical, and even physical damage. Saints are leaving churches because of depression, hurt, nervous break-downs, anger, and the lot. In my experience in talking with Christians they quote more verses from the Old Covenant than from the New Covenant. They are so guilt-ridden that they cannot accept the grace of God that comes without debt. We really believe we need to add something to grace to make it work, otherwise, God cannot possibly do all those wonderful things He has done in us and for us. Here are some wonderful quotes from Matthew's book: "The new man in Christ is in a new spiritual realm and relates to God in a way that is totally different from anyone who lived before the cross." pg 16 "One of the main causes of low-level Christianity is that the Church has followed Old Covenant patterns of living. The Church has focused its attention on learning and applying priciples, rather than knowing Jesus Christ, abiding in Him, and expressing His life by the power of the Holy Spirit." pg17 "Knowledge of biblical principles has become an idol for Christians to trust in and build their lives upon, instead of building them on the person of Christ, who lives within them." pg 19 There is another point that Matthew makes and that is we believe that we are blessed because we have tithed. Their are countless testimonies from Christians who believe they were blessed by the Lord thinking that it was done so by their tithing. Yet, we never hear of the countless testimonies of Christians being blessed who do not tithe. The fact is this: God has freely given all to His Son meaning He has freely given us all. He does this whether we "believe" we worked for it or not. Here is another point: Matthew has rightly and discernibly divided the truth concerning "Tithing", "Firstfruits", and "Volunteer Giving". Each one had a direct and a mutually exclusive purpose. The best, in my opinion, is the fact that the "house of God" or the tabernacle that Moses built was done completely from volunteer giving. Not from tithing. If tithing was used to build God's dwelling place we would still be trying to complete it t

Enlightening

I have been a tither my whole life and found this book to be a refreshing, eye opening look at what the Bible really says on this subject. I've always just believed and been taught in tithing as a fact and never really looked into scripture for myself. This book gives a refreshing and liberating look at a practice that has become a ritual to most Christian's lives. It takes you from ritual to revelation.

To the point and very accurate

Narramore has written a very condensed yet surprisingly comprehensive tome that accurately demonstrates the error of tithe teaching today. He covers all of the current teaching and demonstrates from scripture the problem that these teachings create. Another nice touch is the fact that Narramore never mentions a single minister by name; instead, he concentrates on the subject matter. He doesn't attack his fellow christian. Undoubtedly, you will recognize who is teaching some of the errors covered in this book because the author accurately covers the topic but he does so with love, accuracy, and succinctness. The book is available for free at the publisher's web site but you'll want to get a print version for off line use. Highly recommended--I even ordered two copies!
