"Tired of Being Tired," offers HIV/AIDS awareness to its readers. In 2009, the spread of HIV and AIDS is still on the rise. Fact: The African American female population is reported to be of the highest of populations who are infected with HIV. Any person who has been personally affected by this disease can testify that the pain ripples out and touches not only families, churches, but also communities as a whole. It is my belief; that should we stand up now, as a society and say that "enough is enough," we will begin the process of deterring the spread of myths and the conquering of this disease will commence. Protection begins with education, awareness and accountability to include HIV tests.
