A hoot-- pretty pictures, though

(Note: This is L.'s daughter writing this, not L. herself.) No, despite the title, this is not a potty book. It's about a unicorn named Tinkling. Anyway; At summer camp last year we(being the drama/arts group of the camp) stumbled on this lying around in one of the day care rooms. We promptly gathered around our group leader, who began to read, and this book has become a priceless inside joke ever since. I haven't read it in awhile, but it's a fun book-- younger kids will no doubt love it, though sadly it's very long and wordy, so you may have to explain some words or take breaks reading it. However, as a girl who grew up loving unicorns(or, "Sequins" as this book calls them) the fact that it's all about those pony-like creatures will no doubt make it better. One thing that I get a giggle out of is how much environmental messaging is obviously(or not) in this. This book made me feel a little brainwashed after reading it(it's about how the trolls are responsible for messing up the sequin's lives due to their carelessness, if I remember correctly). In any case, it's a fun old kid's book that kept a group of 6 or so teenagers entertained and made a priceless inside joke that will no doubt carry on through years of camp.
