Times the Sun Got In is a quirky, often humorous assortment of short (some very short) poems, vignettes, poignant observations, and musings that capture the author's experiences and state of mind at various points in his 21st century existence. One of his inspirations for this book was Lydia Davis' Can't and Won't, which a friend recommended after Michael had started constructing his short "stories". The success of Davis' book seemingly gave permission to write pieces of nearly any length, even just a few words.
