Everything we make, do, celebrate, commiserate, wish we could change, savour as a triumph, regret as a failure, and each precious memory we own, was given to us by time. I find time to be absolutely fascinating. It is the one thing that controls our lives but which we can't control. We cannot make it go faster or slower (at least not for ourselves personally) and we cannot stop it, pause it, or unwind it. It is the invisible master of our destiny, the thread tying us to our lives and it cannot be challenged or changed. We can change where we are but never when. We exist in the moment and the moment is soon gone. In this diverse collection of verses, written over my lifetime, I celebrate what time means to me. I share my observations of the world, and the people in it, and reflect on my memories. I have added footnotes too, to help the reader navigate the theme of each poem but, equally, I encourage readers to decide what each verse means for them. Poems can and should be interpreted in different ways. They should mean whatever you want them to mean to you, especially if in those meanings you can find some joy, or extract a thought that takes you somewhere new. Let your mind roam free.
