Awesome

I really liked this book. I have read all three in the series and loved all of them. All the characters were well rounded with hidden depths and strengths. Throught the book you see them grow and change, learning that they are stronger then they thought they were in some ways and weaker in others. But no matter what they grew together and complimented eachother. The suspense was great. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. And the romance is sweet. There is plenty of chemistry there, but both characters are skittish and so their relationship grows from inside them too. The whole story was done very nicely. Im not sure if this is the end of the series or not, it could keep going. But there is no hint or mention of what is comming next. So I guess Ill just have to wait and see. Id recommend this book to lots of people. It would satisfy lots of readers.

Thrilling

Sara's abusive husband has gone too far this time so she takes their 10 yr old son Kendal and finally leaves him. She has been secretly saving and planning for this day for a long time but she needs help. She asks navy SEAL Chase McCaffrey to help them. After initially turning them down, Chase changes his mind and comes to their aid. They go on the run and head to Oklahoma where Chase is going to fix up the house left to him by is deceased stepfather. He assumes Sara and Kendal will be safe and secluded there, but he is wrong. Not only are they hiding from Sara's husband but Chase's stepfather was a white supremacist and some of his cohorts want the guns he kept in his house. Chase is determined to keep Sara and Kendal safe, but as he is fighting off one threat, another is closing in. Sara's husband is tracking them down. If they can survive, Sara hopes to have a future with Chase. But Chase is still a navy SEAL and he has a job to do. He'll have to make a choice and Sara is hoping he chooses her and Kendal. Time to Run is a great story. It's full of action and drama. The sexual tension between Sara and Chase along with the anticipation of which threat will attack first keep the pages turning. I was engrossed in the story wondering if Sara's husband would find them and what would happen if he did. Although poor Sara has been through so much, she perseveres because of her inner strength and her love for her son. Chase is both handsome and tough. He is capable of handling anything. Ms. Melton has written a suspenseful and romantic story. Time to Run is thrilling and will keep you on the edge of your seat! Nannette Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Exceptional Page-Turner

Marliss Melton's Navy Seal series concludes with a very strong, compelling, and completely stand-alone entry focusing on Navy SEAL sniper Chase McCaffrey. Losing those he'd loved at an early age and having suffered an abusive childhood from a vicious stepfather had left Chase emotionally bereft. As a sniper for the SEALS Chase was perfect for the job, not allowing emotional attachments in his life kept him at the top of his game. Sara Garret, a woman he'd only met a few times, begged him for help to escape the tyranny of her abusive husband, a JAG prosecutor. Chase couldn't turn down the woman with the sad but terrified eyes and the young son she was desperate to protect. Along the way to freedom, the adventures they shared brought Chase, Sara, and her young son closer. With each new day away from her husband, Sara gained back the strength and courage to begin anew even as an even bigger danger from a white supremacist group threatened to destroy the happiness that was almost within her reach. Love was not an emotion or an option for Chase in his line of business, but for a future with Sara it was the one emotion that was making him re-think his career choice. From the very first pages, Melton engages the reader with a riveting style of writing pitting two unlikely protagonists together. From the first moment Sara gathered the courage to ask for help to escape, she questioned her choice of heroes. Chase was as emotionally detached as one could ask for, though it must have been fate itself that made her chose such an unlikely source. Melton keeps the action going and the romance elements in perfect harmony of the characters personalities in a very realistic manner that takes this read from the mundane to the exceptional. As my initial introduction to this author, I found this an outstanding read!

Chase "Westy" McCaffrey's Story!!!

Marliss Melton's third story in her Navy SEAL series is a wonderful addition. This time around we are treated to Chase "Westy" McCaffrey and this yummy SEAL is about to fall hard for the perfect lady. Chase has just re-enlisted and he is getting ready to return to Oklahoma in order to take care of some family business. His horrid stepfather has finally died and has left the ranch to Chase. Not sure what he is going to find but he can't put it off. Before he can leave though he must take care of some military business. He runs into a woman that he has helped once before. But this time she's different and when she makes a daring request his first instinct is to tell her no...but he can't turn his back on her and her son...so taking a huge risk with his freedom and career, he helps her. He is not prepared for what happens after that. Sara Garrett is married to a JAG in the Navy. To the world things are as they should be...but behind closed doors things are not right. Sara and her son Kendal live life walking on eggshells trying not to irritate her husband. He is ruthless and when he finally crosses a line Sara can't live with she makes a daring escape with the help of a handsome and kind SEAL. Thinking she will never be able to trust again she is surprised by how much she enjoys being with Chase and soon the feeling that are building between them can not be ignored. But will these two be able to escape what fate has in store and will they be able to find their deserved happy ending? Chase and Sara's story was a compelling page-turner. Ms. Melton has done a wonderful job constructing a story with truly sensitive issues. This is an author I have no trouble recommending. I can hardly wait for her next story!

Another Winner from Marliss Melton

Sara Garret has been married for 11 years to JAG lawyer, Captain Garret, I don't think we are even told his first name, even Sara calls him Garret. During this time he has abused both her and her son. Not physically but mentally and now he has killed Kendal's pet rabbit as punishment for playing loud music. How long before he does begin to physically attack them. For every rule of Garret's they break they are punished. The horror has finally reached too far with the death of the bunny. Chase McCaffrey is a seal with Team 12. He has seen Sara around and recognized the abuse because his mother and he were abused in the same way for yrs. Their paths have crossed once or twice. Now Sara will risk everything to ask a stranger for help to escape the terror of her life. Can Chase say no to someone in the same life he escaped so long ago? Chase isn't sure why he helps Sara, maybe for old times or maybe for her desperate eyes. Sara can't believe she is trusting both herself and her son to a man who is a killer for his country. The trip to Chases ranch and the first taste of freedom she has had in yrs, gives Sara and Kendal hope for their future. They owe it to this strong, silent, man who has his own deep dark secrets. However, someone like her husband doesn't give up easily, and only time will tell if they are really safe. I loved this book, just like her other books, IN THE DARK and FORGET ME NOT, she touches our hearts and brings suspense to the story. Don't miss it.
