Using digitally restored page images from the original publications, first published in 1909 and 1917, the lives of a Revolutionary War captain and a young soldier during World War I are revisited in this dual biographical collection. Samuel Richards and Coningsby Dawson dramatize their stories through narratives and letters about their experiences during war in two very different eras using their writings to describe horrors they saw firsthand. Also included in this edition is additional biographical information detailing little known historical facts following the deaths of Richards in 1841 and Dawson in 1959 that haven't been published previously anywhere.
