Being a woman is never easy, especially if you're from a conservative southern family in the late 60s. Tilt 68 explores what happens when Suzie-Q meets flower-power, war, and the civil rights movement. Yet the story is timeless, as all women are faced with the challenge of "do I wear the role I was given, or does another one fit better?" A fun, warm and thought-provoking novel, inciting full-spectrum emotional reactions.

This book is fantastic.

Really captures the spirit of the era. Change, confusion, elation, freedom. All happening at the same time. No role models for us at that time. We had to wing it. That was the BEST part though. Thanks to Sarah Colton for putting this wild time in words so lots of women could share it with you. Brought back many, many memories. Has SOT stamp of approval too.

Rolicking, poignant, fun!!

GREAT BOOK!! Sheer pleasure from start to finish! Its a deeper, more sophisticated "Divine Secrets of the Ya ya sisterhood." The characters - a tapesty of colorful personalities - are beautifully and poignantly developed, each tumbling forward in searingly human ways to a radically changing world. You end up wanting them all to be YOUR friends. This is a must read for readers of any generation who want to be shot back to a tumultouos time when traditional values, innocence and certainty were ripped up by their roots. Truly fun stuff!

uplifting, inspiring

This book is a total surprise, coming out of nowhere, and fills your body and mind with indelible images and powerful feelings from the 60's. the end of innocence, the nihilism. the rebellion, the fear, vietnam all come crashing in to your living room. I can't wait to read her next book!! and i'm a guy.
