The author's firsthand experience of actually living and working at Tillamook Light gives the book a powerful and touching edge. Tillamook Lighthouse "Terrible Tilly" was one of the most fierce and inhospitable places in America and it produced a rare breed of men that were full of courage and unusual determination. A great adventure book for late night reading and a must for any lighthouse enthusiast.
