Jesus teaching on Marriage and Divorce

What does the Bible have to say about Divorce and Remarriage? A proper understanding of Jesus teaching in the Gospels show that He re-established God's original plan for the institution of marriage upon which society rests - the union of one man to one woman until death separates them. Moses quoted God in Deuteronomy 18:15-19,stating that "I will raise them up a Prophet... and will put my words in His Mouth; and He shall speak unto the all that I shall command Him...that whosoever will not hearken unto My words which He shall speak in My name, I will require it of him" Joseph Webb clearly states Jesus teaching on marriage and divorce. He who does not heed that teaching - God will require it of him.

Oh me! or Oh my!

I would wish it to be a "best seller", But the Bible is a "best seller" and people leave it on the shelf and shut God's truth out of their lives too. Plain and simple layout. Illustrations a child can understand. A book that should be read outloud before dating, marriage, separation, divorce or remarriage. Online Audio also available of "What the Bible REALLY says about Marriage and Divorce." 1999(Fourth Printing) and 2003 (Fifth) nearly identical- 270 pages.

Biblical Truth

This book is a must-read for anyone considering marriage, divorce, or remarriage. Life isn't always easy. We must carry our cross and follow Him. We can't come to God on our own terms. We must come to Him on His terms. Contrary to what the previous reviewer said, there are some things that we must stop doing in order to be saved, like committing adultery. "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? BE NOT DECIEVED: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, NOR ADULTERERS, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (KJV) (emphasis mine) "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." Hebrews 13:4 (KJV)

An amazing study in biblical Truth!

This book is a must read for people of all ages. It, along with the Bible, contradicts today's easy believeism. Society, as well as many churches today, portray Christianity as a type of "morning after pill." They convey it as a means to do all that you can do to make yourself happy(as if that's what the Bible teaches, that Christians will always be happy), even if it means doing things that the Bible refers to as sin. Simply say: "Jesus forgive me" and everything from that point on in your life is God ordained. The critics of Dr. Webb's teachings can not even site one verse of Scripture that says divorce is allowed or acceptable to God! They also can not site one verse that says re-marriage is allowed other than in Paul's writings concerning marriage after a spouse dies. Even then, the Bible encourages the remaining spouse to further trust in Christ, mentioning that it is best if they do not re-marry. The Bible does not teach the pursuit of happiness, it teaches the pursuit of Christ and His teachings! To say that believers are automatically entitled to happiness blatantly defies Scriptural Truth! Dr. Webb's book points out these popular errors by comparing them to God's written Word! He points out God's true grace that saves people "out" of their sinful lifestyles. This is a must read for singles and married couples alike. Thank you Dr. Webb for taking on this "unpopular" subject that is avoided by most in the pulpits today.

I Just Can't Prove it Wrong!

We read this book for the first time about 8-9 years ago. We now have the audio set also! I have tried diligently to disprove his arguements based on scripture since then with no avail! It's a very "bitter" teaching. However, if you see out of God's love for us He sets boundaries, it becomes much more digestible. :-)
