Big Serving of Inspiration with a Dash of History & Romance

Author Tracie Peterson has combined four "novellas", each centering around a different main character, but all set during World War II, into one inspiring book guaranteed to warm your heart and soul. In, "Coming Home," the central character, David Cohen, a graduate of the school of hard knocks, enlists in the Navy during World War II rather than go to prison. Supervisor, and chief petty officer, Kenny Bennet, a man from a strong family foundation, is able to see through David's hardened exterior and takes the outcast under his wing.When Kenny is tragically killed during the war, David is left alone without his mentor to guide him. In a desperate attempt to numb the pain, David prepares to end his life. Call it divine intervention or coincidence, but David's actions are halted when he believes he hears Kenny's voice. Very Gripping

This book is one that I like to re-read every so often. My favorites are the second and third stories. They really get the reader involved in the characters' lives. I like adventure in a story, and these two novellas have enough to satisfy me. I am especially interested in the aerial aspect of WWII, so the third is thrilling for me. The first story is also good. It's more of a tear-jerker than the others. I wasn't as thrilled with the last story. It's sweet, but it wasn't one of my favorites. But over all, this is a wonderful novella collection.I recommend this book to anyone interested in both the military and civilian sides of WWII.

Wonderful - COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!

I loved this book and can't say enough wonderful things about it. Perhaps that's because as a woman who experienced the sorrows of World War II, I found the stories hit so very close to home. Life was very different then and Tracie Peterson has perfectly captured that in her 4 wonderful stories. She could have been writing my own story in #3. I hope everyone gets a chance to read this treasure. Now I'm off to read Tracie's Long Awaited Child.

This was one the best I have read!! I dearly love anything that Tracie Peterson writes. I could not put this down until I was finished. I hope she writes about WWII again.
