When your parents are your worst enemy, how do you survive?

Tider didn't get to choose his parents. He never would have picked the ones he had. They were monsters. They loved showing how powerful they were to everyone who came to their house. They used dark magic to keep the other elementals in line.

Soon they were going to want him to follow in their footsteps, but he didn't want to. He didn't want to hurt people and control them. All he wanted was for his parents to be normal and maybe to have a friend.

When his power starts to show itself, he tries to keep it hidden, knowing his parents will try to corrupt him right away. He thinks he's doing a good job until they make him mad, and he drops a large ball of water on their heads.

Now they know his power has emerged, and that he will be powerful once he can control it. There's no way to stop them from ruining his life, but he's still going to try.
