Out of the window of my pastor's study, I see children dropped off on the far side of the parking lot. The parents fear I will come out and speak to them again. It is sad, but then I see the children run to the church building. They know where the love is So many children seem to be inconveniences to their parents or treated as property by their parents. We are appalled when this is the culture of a distant country, but this is happening here. Many have mercy on the children of these parents-as we should. Many do not speak the truth to the parents of these children. What is that truth? So many have abandoned parenting-forsaken the duties that accompany the gift from God that we call children. We who know better have done little about addressing the root of the problem. That together, those who threw in the parenting towel and those who standby and watch have created a generation of throwaway kids. Are we content to just stand by and do nothing? Are we concerned enough to get involved?
