Through the School Gate

By: Danka, Isaac

For Scarlett, the school gate feels like the biggest step of all.

She starts the morning determined to be brave, but as school gets closer, her worries begin to grow. She dawdles, drags her feet and wishes she could turn around and go home.

Then, at the school gate, a familiar voice changes everything.

Through the School Gate is a warm, reassuring picture book about school-day nerves, courage, friendship and taking one small step at a time.

With gentle rhyming text and expressive illustrations, it offers children a comforting way to talk about nervous feelings while reminding them that being brave doesn't mean never feeling worried.

A thoughtful read for children starting school, returning after a break, or facing a new experience.
