Through the Fall: A Hunters Cove Novel
Kidnapped at just eight days old, Ellery Gray was raised by a woman who used her as a pawn in a sinister game. Now, at thirty-seven, the reclusive best-selling author has come home to Hunters Cove, Minnesota-a small town rife with secrets.
No longer willing to fictionalize her life story, Ellery steps away from writing and opens a bookstore in an old building with a dark history. Soon, tragedies strike: a devastating death involving her brothers, the arrival of a young woman with unclear motives, an 1853 land contract that threatens the family's future, and a series of break-ins. Paranoia becomes inescapable. Each event serves as a reminder that even though she has stopped writing, the incidents that inspired her stories continue to unfold.
As her life takes one dark turn after another, Ellery confronts an unsettling truth: evil can strike suddenly, like a fierce storm, or seep in gradually, disguised as betrayal and manipulation. With tensions escalating, Ellery must figure out whom she can trust and how far she is willing to go to protect herself.
