Hospice discussions are often perceived as the elephant in the room. Many are more comfortable discussing birth than death, though we all will experience both. While people are captivated by celebrity deaths or hot topics like sex, many are deterred by mortality in general. The time that hospice is researched is generally when one already needs it and doesn't have enough time to fully absorb the information. If you or someone you love receives a hospice referral, and are facing a life-limiting condition, processing that alone may feel overwhelming.
