Through Margaret's Tears

Diane opened the newly received letter and was shocked to find she had inherited her Aunt Dessa's farm. Just recently widowed and living on the west coast, she now will travel east to her favorite aunt's home. Little did she know what laid ahead for her. In the midst of renovating the old stone house, Diane is visited by strange happenings appearing in ghost like images. On top of that, her life is greatly changed as she opens the house as a bed and breakfast and welcomes a variety of guests to the rural Amish community that she now calls home. As Diane became friends with her Amish neighbors, she is amazed at their lifestyle and beliefs. Henry is her quiet handyman to help with renovations and a shy Amish girl is now her housekeeper and friend. Mystery surrounds her everyday as she finds signs of those who built this beautiful stone house and how the first lady of the house, Margaret, endured life in the 1800's. The day Diane found Margaret's journal was the day those former residents came to life. Hints of the house being a stop for the underground railroad drew even more questions in Diane's mind. Now she experienced those mystery visits and the signs they left for her to figure out. Diane shed tears as she read through Margaret's journal, feeling the pain and sorrow of the writer. Feeling part of Margaret's family, Diane became engrossed in Margaret's tearful stories. Then the day came, when Diane needed to put Margaret's tears to rest.
