The Boost is another experiment of the Threshold Project. The aim? Produce a more lethal warrior. The purpose? It is 177 years in the future. Cillian and his twin Pridbor are born into the Warrior caste as the property of Lacedaemon, Inc., the security arm of International Trade Organization that controls the worldwide economy. Cillian and Pridbor become an experiment of the Threshold project, the Boost - an attempt to produce a more lethal warrior. However, a technical error at birth separates the twins. Cillian's name is changed to Bartlett Starling, and he is assigned to the lowest caste in the industrial zone of The Citadel. Bartlett has one chance to rise to the Warrior caste, The Challenge.

THE CHALLENGE BECOMES AN AWAKENING
Unbeknownst to Lacedaemon, Inc. Bartlett discovers a hidden group of Citadel outcastes who have created a community, the Dwellers, in the surrounding forest. If the Citadel discovers them, they must be eliminated. If Bartlett wins The Challenge, he will rise to the prestigious Warrior caste and should tell the Citadel about the Dwellers. Now The Challenge will not be his only battle. His conscience will be become another battleground.
