Following the sudden death of his close friend, Peter Newbury, a famous theorist at Fermilab, Oliver Saxon finds himself trying to combat an international plot against those seeking the "God Particle," while still dealing with his grief and anger over Peter's death. Oliver is Professor of History and World Religion at the University of Chicago, but is also an analyst for Homeland Security. This summer he is working closely with Maxine Phillips, a young field agent recently returned from a deadly encounter with ISIS in Northern Iraq. Together, as Max and Oliver struggle to overcome their inner demons, they follow clues, hidden in Biblical prophesy, in a desperate attempt to stay ahead of three conspirators who are intent on destroying key research labs. Oliver and Max chase them around the world and eventually to Jerusalem where the three conspirators are preparing for their final attack, one that would bring about Armageddon.
