A wonderful read

Nirvan Hope is a gifted writer and one of life's treasures. She has written this book with so much thought, creativity and humour and takes you on a wonderful journey through nature, making you want to experience everything she describes. This is a really magical book :-)

A window into beekeeping in the Pacific NW

This richly descriptive personal journal, written by a woman who has both knowledge of and heart-felt respect for the natural world, took me on a visual and visceral journey of her part of the world. And her first-hand life as a beekeeper introduced me to the sensitivities, beauty and sense of purpose of these creatures. Here is a quote to entice you: "...by evening, with warmer temperatures, the much happier bees head straight for garden plum trees as guests at a sumptuous blossom banquet. I watch through a crosshatch of twigs and white petals." Reading Ms. Hope's book is inspiring, if you have any interest in beekeeping at all, a treat for the senses, and a visit to the lush flora and fauna of the Pacific NW.

I'm Ready For More, Please!

I just finished Nirvan Hope's book,"Three Seasons of Bees" and I want to know more! I want the fourth season! Ms. Hope's book left me wanting more, wanting a sequel, and left me bereft that I had finished the book. To me, that is a sign of great writing, a great story and a writer's ability to sweep you into their world and enrich your mind and soul. Thanks to Ms. Hope, I think I "understand" the world of a bee and have learned what complications, hardship and joy are involved in beekeeping, and in living in the Pacific Northwest. But don't think this book is just about peaceful living - it's a very modern book about the reality of trying to live in a rural area when criminal elements move in next door, and how the community bands together to rout them out. Both riveting and contemplative, I highly recommend enriching your life by reading this book.
