This novel explores the life of three musicians, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as a pianist, Antonio Salieri, as a court composer, and a violinist, and Augusto Bernardo Becker, a fictional poet and musician, that writes the lyrics of their songs. They are renowned court composers, musicians, and actors, and also owners of a tavern in Vienna, Austria, in the 18th century. The fictional poet is considered one of the most important romantic poets in Castilian literature. His works are allegedly recognized for his great poetics and the way he manages to express his feelings in a very special way with the use of lyrical language and metaphors. The poet is a figure from the comic theater tradition known as professional comedy, and may act typically as a brilliant, romantic, and occasionally passionate, character.
