A heart breaking story, beautifully written...

Truly elegant prose. If you admire well written novels, you'll find yourself re-reading this book for its sheer craftsmanship. I did, until late one night, and then began busily turning pages, unable to sleep until I found out how it all turned out for the beautiful heroine.

Fiction that reads as fact

Clearly the author has "been there, done that" and her well-told story shows that she remembers it all well -- and weaves quite a tale. I'm not usually one for fiction, but this reads like the story of someone you know, and want to know more about. Highly recommended.

I was captivated by this long, twisted and moving love story that also documents pivotal moments in the history of photography and rock n roll and feminism. The author has a distinctive voice. I want to read more of her writing.
