The three novels contained herein, the authorship of which, in one way or another, was attributed to the fin-de-si cle stage-star Selina Dolaro (1849-1889), were in fact written by the English polymath Edward Heron-Allen (1861-1943), in the late 1880s, when he was sojouring in the United States.
