Growing up in the 1950's, 60's and 70's was a challenge to say the least but as I look back on the it, it was a time with a lot of moral values instilled in us that seem to be missing now. There was hard work and also poverty everywhere. We grew up proud and with honor. Most of our houses were never locked; day or night. There was a trust amongst all of us. If help was needed it was there not exspecting any pay or favors. My two brothers and I grew up near a creek in a small town in Tennessee. We were poor but never realized it as our mother told us as long as we have food on the table, clothes on our back, and God in our hearts; we were as rich as they come.
