No trumpet for this swan

Louis is a trumpeter swan. He is born one summer on a little pond in Canada, along with four brothers and sisters. But Louis has a terrible problem. Unlike the rest of his joyfully noisy family, Louis can't make a single sound. And without a trumpet sound, his true love--the beautiful swan Serena--just ignores him. Louis's father promises to help. So does Sam Beaver, a boy who loves all wild animals. First Louis goes to school with Sam and learns to read and write. But swans can't read, so Louis still can't make himself understood. That's when Louis's father puts his honor aside and steals a brass trumpet to give his son a voice. Louis's determination to pay off his father's debt to woo his own true love takes him far from the wilderness he loves. But his faith and his joy in life are always with him.
Charlotte's Web/Stuart Little

These 2 books are not just fun and adventure but inlaid with more in-depth meaning. Friendship, trust and encouragement between 2 different species Charlotte (the spider) and Wilbur (the pig) - applies to people as well, whether you are of different races or colourTake another example Stuart Little, despite the fact that a cat traditionally catches mouse, Snowbell (the cat) dismisses this tradition to save and befriend Stuart Little (the mouse). What more, human parents chose to adopt a mouse instead of their own human being to display selfless love. These 2 titles make good moral reading for children. They have accompanied me through childhood to adulthood and has thought me to be sensitive to people's feelings.
Exciting, funny and full of enjoyment!

"Stuart Little" by E.B. White was full of adventure and humor. We found Stuart to be a very funny and believable character. We did, however, think it a bit strange that no one, except the policemen taking the missing person's report, found it strange that Stuart was only 2 inches high and looked like a mouse. We would definitely reccommend this book to anyone looking for a laugh or adventure.
