Some birds fly with fractured wings,
And with grating voices songbirds sing.
Hearts still shelter broken things,
And memory to shattered hope still clings.
For lame horses too win golden rings,
And fake coins buy glamorous things.
And empires run by powerless kings.
In the furnace heal broken rings,
And the world spins,
On the axis of once broken things.
