This is my first book which consists of poems, quotes and random thoughts about everyday life. As a child i thought poetry had to rhyme and quotes only came from scholars. Once i learned otherwise, i still couldn't grasp how to do so on my own. To be honest, i still don't know how. My jots helped me through tough times and i hope they can help others. If it doesn't help you in any way, then hopefully you can just enjoy it for what it is. About the author:Hi, i'm F.G. Jerez and this is my first book. I was born and raised in Yonkers, New York and i currently reside there with no plan on leaving. I don't have an extensive education so apologies for grammatical errors. I purposely type in lowercase because i like the way it looks. All lowercase typing gives me the feel that every word has the same power, a capital letter shows diversity and segregation. In other words, cover to cover, this is a look inside of my head. At the end of this book is a picture of myself, sitting on my car, holding an umbrella over my head. This was the day i thought of using an umbrella as my logo. Half asleep, at 7:28 a.m. i decided to take a selfie. I propped up my tripod, attached my cellular phone to it and set a 10 second timer on the camera. I sat on the trunk of my car then the flash went off. I checked the photo and didn't like it, it looked dull so I went into my trunk in search of a prop. My umbrella instantly caught my attention, i'm unsure why, as you'll see, it wasn't even raining, maybe because i was tired and the sun was in my eyes. Whatever the reason, i been using an umbrella as my logo since that day and never looked back. I have an awful memory so i used to write ideas down just so i won't forget them. As i looked back at my ideas, i realized they were piling up and i could one day publish them together as a book.I hope you enjoy it.
