Robert Red, the main character of Those Who Can't, Teach falls in love with a beautiful French teacher named Rachel. He cannot commit because his mind is full of memories of other women. Although he tries again and again to love, his past exploits keep getting in the way. The pressures of being a neglected, high school English teacher and an unfulfilled lover leave him bereft. The tension builds and Robert cracks, behind the wheel, landing in jail for a DUI he did not commit. Through therapy, he is able to try and make his way back to the classroom.
