These are excerpts from her poems.
THE STORM
The storm roaring like a lion
Rain coming through the roof
Wind chill shaking my bones
INNOCENCE
It was late in the afternoon
She was standing at the bus stop
Waiting for her sweetheart
THE RIVER
River of clear water and black sand
Where as a young child,
My father taught me
Not to be afraid
And learn to swim
WHERE IS THE LOVE
Through the eyes of love, I try to see
But there is nothing looking back at me
IS ANYONE LISTENING
Is today a good day or a bad day the child wonders
Is it going to happen today?
PRAYER
Oh Lord Jesus
Mold me with an even temperament
I don't want to be like a ship
Tossed by the tempestuous ocean
FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness broke the chains
That held me captive
In bondage to the pain
NEW SONG
I woke up the dawn
Singing a new song
My soul is free to worship you Lord
ROSES AND BUTTERFLIES
When you feel the gentle kiss from a butterfly
Or the summer breeze caresses your hair
