The rough edges of the hinterland of Umor was home to Laydemi, a young man with a promising future career in farming! It had never crossed his mind that destiny would one day transport him out of their farming village community in Africa to the shimmering lights of London.
Like a scene out of a science-fiction movie, Laydemi stood still as if beamed to the centre of Oxford Street, absorbing the sight and sounds of men and machines echoing all around him! The horn of a car brought him back to reality that he was of a truth in the Queen's native country.
Sandra Uche, first daughter of a Supreme Court Judge decided to spend the summer holidays with her Mother in the English capital. She was beautiful to behold. Many suitors have asked her hand in marriage, but she often turns them down. Laydemi noticed from a distance, mother and daughter struggling with a handful of shopping bags, when he offered to help. They obliged him and a romantic cord was struck!
The witches of Umor were busy looking for their next victim that year. As they pondered among themselves, the spotlight fell on the innocent young man, Laydemi, whose only crime was traveling abroad to better his lot!
