Where does that light come from?

It's whimsy. It's light..oh, pardon the pun. "This little light of mine" is a soft, warm, glowing book about pre-born babies in heaven. Where does that light come from? Why, from God, of course. First, a baby is made from ears down to toes, then checked out by an angel. Next, the baby waits in line to see God. This God is so loving and warm that babies want to just stay with Him. However, God sees them before their sojourn on Earth to explain their purpose. He infuses them with a light from His heart, making each baby part of His Being. A birthday candle is a reminder of God's light and its symbolism that each person contains this light. Another reviewer questions this light in criminals and such. There is a suggestion of these when God tells the baby: "You will recognize the light in people when they are sweet or forgiving." By inference "bad" people will have no light because they lost it being bad, or probably dimmed it. This is not the bible or a treatise on religion. It is a sweet book for young children to provide a loving picture of the God who creates us. Just take it for what it is. The illustrations are glowing and perfect. Paired with the text, this is an excellent gift book for new mothers or grandmothers, and for children.

Beautiful Story

I loved this story of God making sure every little child's light shines before He sends them to us! How beautiful to think of how God inspects our children & puts his stamp of approval on them! I saw this book in a local boutique while searching for a baby gift and this was a perfect gift! I could not leave it in the store! The story itself flowed smoothly and was very pleasant. As a mother, it was an emotional read to think of my children in this light. The pictures were very sweet and were appropriate for the story.

Great message for children

The message this book delivers is wonderful. It lets children know how special they are to God and it does so in a way that even the youngest child can understand. -- The illustrations are as beautiful as the text.

Absolutely Darling!

i picked up this book in a boutique while waiting and fell in love with it. it is so touching and so precious that it brought a tear to my eye. i bought one for my little girl and one for each of my friends who are expecting mommies-to-be! it is the perfect new baby gift but i also highly recommend it as a gift for any age.

Precious book

This is a precious book that touched my heart. The soft and beautiful illustrations are a perfect compliment to the story. Books that are spiritual in nature are hard to find in the mainstream. This is a great treasure to share with my daughter.
