Any gospel music fans out there?

How about Gaither Homecoming Friends fans? This Is My Story is a book to add to your collection. Author David Liverett compiled short biographies and his own sketches of gospel singers is this book. This Is My Story contains biographies of 145 gospel music singers. Arranged in alphabetical order, featured singers range from Mary Ann Gaither Addison to George Younce. Each biography includes date of birth and death where appropriate, name, scripture verse, and a drawing of the singer. I learned background facts about many of the gospel singers I enjoy listening to. I didn't know that John Bowman, husband of Rebecca Isaacs and member of The Isaacs, used to travel with Alison Krauss and Union Station. Did you know that The Martins didn't own a piano when they were younger? The lack of a keyboard helped them develop the tight harmony they are known for. Hovie Lister is most known for his showmanship and pursuit of the best of the best for his quartets. The stories of many artists are not written by the author but by contributors such as Amy Grant, Vonnie Wright, Judy Nelon, and Steve Speer. Many of the biographies are short and without any fluff, but some are choppy and do not flow smoothly.
