Shane Linder grew up in a broken home but cuddled by his older sisters. His mother had multiple marriages which led to moving from one place to another. Shane lived in eight different states by the time he was sixteen years old. He started using drugs and ran away when he was fourteen and lived on the streets briefly. He accepted help when it was offered to him. He got clean and returned to school. He joined the Army National Guard before graduating high school and did basic training between his junior and senior year. Shane finished his time in the National Guard while he was in college. He began a college ministry which he continued after graduating and moving to Texas. He went from being a weekend warrior - part-time soldier/full-time student - to being a weekend missionary. He spent his weekends in Mexico doing missionary work. His 18-year marriage came to an end when his wife had a mid-life crisis. Shane went to graduate school in Mexico and earned a master's degree in family ministry and counseling. He continued studying and earned a doctorate from the seminary in pastoral counseling. Today, Dr. Shane is a bivocational chaplain and construction manager. This is his story.
