Rev. Dr. Stan Basler is a retired United Methodist minister who serves as adjunct seminary faculty and adjunct law faculty. For nearly 19 years he was appointed Director of Criminal Justice and Mercy Ministries for the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church. Prior to entering ministry he was engaged in the private practice of law and served a 4 year term as a Kansas County Commissioner. In addition to teaching, Basler is the Thursday night preacher at Penn Ave Redemption United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, a congregation of prisoners, former prisoners, their families and never incarcerated people. He spends what time he can on the farm he owns in Southeast Kansas where he is a volunteer attorney for Kansas legal aid. Basler volunteers at the Oklahoma Innocence Project at Oklahoma City University School of Law and is an elementary school tutor in the Whiz Kids program. He is married to the extremely talented Janet Basler, is the father of attorney/mother Adrianna Jenson and the proud "Grandpa" to Ezra. Book jacket.
